At 35 in tall and 108 lb, the R-7589 is a substantial ductile iron bollard. The body is fluted and measures 7-3/4 in across; the base measures 15 in, close to twice that. A base that size needs a clear area of footing or paving to sit on, so confirm spacing and surface conditions before laying out a run of them.
Both uses apply. As a fixed bollard, the R-7589 blocks vehicle access at the point where it stands. As a cover, it goes over an existing pipe and conceals it; in that case the casting is a finish and the pipe underneath remains the post. Pipe capacity is 4-1/2 in in diameter and 25 in in height, so measure the existing pipe first.
