Bollard Boys GTA Inc. — Toronto, Ontario (647) 540-4466 · bollardboysgta@gmail.com

The short version

30 days to return an unused bollard. A 25% restocking fee on change-of-mind returns, calculated on the product price. You pay the freight back to us. Custom and made-to-order items are final sale. Once a bollard is in the ground it can’t come back — but if it turns out to be faulty, we fix it. Nothing on this page takes away rights the law gives you.

1. What this page covers

This page covers products you buy directly on bollardboys.com with Add to Cart — including our crash-rated models, which are priced and purchasable here like everything else. We accept returns from customers in Canada and the United States.

If we supplied your bollards against a written quote, the return and cancellation terms in that quote apply. We send them with the quote, before you approve it. Where a quote is silent, this page applies.

Not sure which you’re on? If you paid a listed price through the cart, it’s this page.

2. Your return window

Call (647) 540-4466 or email bollardboysgta@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery to start a return. We reply within 2 business days with a Return Authorization (RA) number, the return address and receiving hours. Returns go to our Ontario facility — we send you the address with your RA number.

Write the RA number clearly on the outside of the package, and get the shipment moving within 15 days of the date on the RA. It counts as on time once it’s in the carrier’s hands.

Please don’t ship anything back before you have an RA. If a package reaches us without one, we’ll hold it and contact you rather than refuse it or send it away — but it will slow your refund down, and any storage or reshipment cost is yours.

3. Condition of returned goods

A returned bollard has to be new, unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging, with the ground sleeve, base plate, fasteners and every other original component. We can’t take back a bollard that has been installed, set in concrete, cut, drilled, welded, painted or otherwise modified.

This is about change-of-mind returns. If the problem is that the goods are faulty, wrong, or not what we described, go to section 6 instead — that’s a different route with different rules.

4. Restocking fee

Approved change-of-mind returns carry a restocking fee of 25% of the product price — the price of the goods only, not tax and not freight.

Tax you paid on the returned goods comes back in full. So a $1,000 bollard refunds $750 plus the tax on it, and you’ve paid the freight back to us.

The fee covers what a return actually costs us: inbound freight handling, inspection, repackaging, touch-up or recoating where the finish needs it, and putting the unit back into saleable stock.

No restocking fee applies where section 6 or section 8 applies, or to an exchange for a different size or finish of the same product.

5. Return freight

You pay the freight back to us. Ship prepaid and insured for the full value by a trackable carrier. If the return is lost or damaged on its way to us, that claim is yours to file.

Whatever we charged you for outbound freight is not refunded. If we shipped your order at no charge, we deduct what that shipment actually cost us — we’ll tell you the amount in writing before you ship anything back, so there are no surprises in the refund.

Returning from the United States: the goods come back to Ontario, so it’s an international shipment. Mark the paperwork as Canadian goods being returned, and send us the tracking and customs documents. Brokerage, duties and border charges on the return leg are yours. Ask us before you book it and we’ll tell you how to fill it out so it doesn’t get stuck at the border.

Apart from the restocking fee in section 4, these are the only costs of returning an order.

6. If we got it wrong

Wrong item, or an item that’s defective or not what we described: tell us within 30 days of delivery. We pay the freight both ways, there’s no restocking fee, and you choose — a replacement, or a full refund of the product price and the original shipping charge.

If a fault only shows up after the bollard is installed, a return isn’t the route — call us. We’ll come out or send out, and we’ll repair or replace it. We won’t turn you away because it’s already in the ground.

If our crew did the installation and the installation is the problem, see section 10.

Nothing in section 3 or anywhere else on this page limits the conditions and warranties that sale-of-goods and consumer protection law apply to your purchase.

7. Cancelling an order

In-stock items: cancel free of charge any time before your order leaves us. In-stock models ship in 48 hours, so tell us fast. Once it’s on a truck, it’s a return — sections 2 to 5.

Made-to-order, custom and cut-to-size items: cancel free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that we’ve committed the steel, and a 25% cancellation fee applies. If your order hasn’t actually been released yet when you call, we’ll waive it.

No cancellation fee applies where you cancel under section 8 or under a right the law gives you.

8. If we’re late

If we’ve given you a delivery date and we haven’t delivered within 30 days of it — or, where we didn’t give a date, within 30 days of the day you ordered — you can cancel any time before delivery. We refund everything you paid, including shipping, within 15 days of your cancellation notice, with no restocking or cancellation fee.

If you agree in writing to a later date, that later date is the one that counts. This doesn’t apply where we’re waiting on information or site access we asked you for and haven’t received.

9. Delivery, unloading and damage

Unloading. Bollards are heavy and most shipments arrive curbside. Unless your order confirmation says we’re delivering and installing, have someone on site with the equipment to take it off the truck. If you need a liftgate, a delivery appointment, or a residential or limited-access address, tell us before we ship and we’ll quote it. If the truck can’t deliver because nobody is there or the site can’t take it, the carrier bills storage and re-delivery, and that goes on your order. A shipment refused for any reason other than damage or our mistake is treated as a return under sections 2 to 5.

Visible damage. Look at the shipment before you sign. If something is damaged, write it on the delivery receipt or bill of lading before the driver leaves, photograph it, and email us within 48 hours. You can refuse a badly damaged shipment outright — write the reason on the receipt and call us the same day. Those thirty seconds at the truck matter: a clean signed receipt makes a carrier claim much harder to win.

Concealed damage. Found it after unpacking? Tell us in writing within 5 business days of delivery, keep the crate and all the packaging, and don’t install the bollard.

Who chases the carrier. Where we arranged and prepaid the freight, we file the claim, not you. Where you booked your own carrier or collected the goods yourself, risk passes to you on loading and the claim is yours.

Missing one of these timelines doesn’t end your rights. Goods that were damaged before they reached you are our problem: you still have the full 30 days from delivery to report a damaged or defective bollard under section 6, and we’ll replace or refund it at no cost to you.

10. Supply-and-install orders

Where we install your bollards, the installation is a service, and we’ll perform it properly.

You can cancel or reschedule a booked installation free of charge up to 5 business days before the date. Inside 5 business days we charge only the crew, equipment and permit costs we can’t recover, and we tell you the amount before we charge it. If we miss a scheduled installation date, we reschedule at no cost to you.

If our installation is faulty, we come back and correct it at our cost, including making good any surface our work disturbed.

An installed bollard can’t be returned — but section 6 still covers the bollard itself.

11. Final sale items

Custom, made-to-order, special-order and cut-to-size products are final sale. Once we start building it, it’s yours.

If you’re not sure whether an item is final sale, ask us before you order and we’ll tell you in writing.

Final sale never limits section 6, section 8, or your rights under consumer protection law for goods that are faulty, misdescribed or wrongly shipped.

12. Refunds

We inspect returns within 3 business days of receiving them and issue your refund within 14 days of receipt. Refunds go back the way you paid, and in the currency you paid in — we can’t control exchange-rate movement or your card issuer’s fees, and your bank may take a few days more to post it.

Where you cancel under section 8, or under a right consumer protection law gives you, we refund every payment you made under the order, including shipping, within 15 days of your cancellation notice, with no restocking or cancellation fee.

13. This page is not a warranty

A return is for a bollard you haven’t installed and no longer want, inside 30 days. If something fails later — a finish, a weld, a lock, or an installation we did — call us. We stand behind what we sell and what we put in the ground. Tell us what happened and we’ll make it right.

14. Your rights under the law

Nothing here takes away or limits any right you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act, the Sale of Goods Act, or any other consumer protection law that applies to you. If part of this page conflicts with those rights, that part doesn’t apply to you and the rest still does.

If you’re buying for business rather than for personal, family or household use, sections 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 11 apply in full as commercial terms we’ve agreed.
